(STORY IN ENGLISH)

‘What hurts you, blesses you. Darkness is your candle.’
RUMI

“Imagine you wake up in the morning and you find yourself in a jungle surrounded by a group of people where you don’t understand the language they speak, and they don’t understand the language you speak. You are trying to convince yourself that this can only be a nightmare and it can not be true, you want to wake up soon and try to forget the nightmare no matter how much you try. You finally accept it and set a mentality that you can not change it, it is the reality, an unknown situation and you accept to live with it.

This was exactly my situation 11 years ago when I was at high school, I was lost, everything around me was so meaningless I was searching for people who could help, who could understand. It was almost impossible to find someone or something that could help.  One day I came across these words while reading a quote on a Rumi painting; “What hurts you, blesses you. Darkness is your candle.”

Going through the hardest times of my life and then suddenly coming across some words which were so nice, heart touching and healing. His words helped me a lot to understand the purpose of life and what life is all about. It helped me to never give up on myself, it helped me to live my life in a way that makes sense to me.

Rumi taught me that just to be alive is not enough, his words helped me to do what I love and to do it with love. Rumi taught me that when I am committed to something then I should do it with all my heart.”
